The Lynnwood Event Center is proud to host a variety of permanent exhibits from local artists. The public is welcome to come and view the featured art during Event Center regular business hours. The art can also be viewed in the evenings and on weekends when the building is open for events.

Love Your New Neighbor
Outside the 1st level entrance, guests can view artist BK Choi’s sculpture, “Love Your New Neighbor.” This 12-foot, heart shaped sculpture is covered in jogakbo, a traditional Korean wrapping cloth. Choi’s jogakbo has pink, blue, green, and yellow in honor of Lynnwood’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Commission decals with the message “All Are Welcome.”
“There is a traditional Korean handicraft — an art form similar to a quilt — called jogakbo. Jogak means a piece or a fragment, and bo means a cloth, or a covering or wrapping. As the name suggests, it’s composed of many different pieces of fabric, of all shapes, sizes and colors. But despite the irregularities and the differences, the pieces are balanced, and fit together harmoniously to create a whole that’s greater than the sum of its parts. This is what I tried to represent in my art installation. My hope is that Lynnwood continues to be the kind of place that welcomes new arrivals, and creates not only the physical space, but also the economic, social, and emotional space for them to thrive.”

Spectra
“Spectra”, by local artist Doug Hansen, stands 35 feet tall and is created from an array of steel, fused glass and fiber optics. This unique art piece is located just outside the Event Center on the corner of 36th Ave. and 196th St. SW.

Terrapixel
Just inside the 1st level entrance, guests can step onto Rick Mullarky’s interactive floor “Terrapixel”. Refurbished in 2022, this 64-glass tile installation generates a multi-faceted light display, commemorating the Event Center’s state-of-the-art design. Colors in the Terrapixel can be changed and customized depending on the event, holiday, or season.
